This CD album was released May 2005.
This vocal bilingual French/English compact disc and
especially the song “Help They’re Hungry/Au Secours

Donald James LeBlanc (Donjames), guitarist, singer,
songwriter, producer, teacher does all of the vocals.
He also plays all of the electric and acoustic lead

Released
in the summer 2004 is the CD by Donjames LeBlanc entitled
‘’L’IL ACADIAN BOY/PETIT GARS ACADIEN”.
Donjames is very proud of this new release because he
is Acadian/Acadien at his roots. This multi-talented
legendary musician/songwriter/ singer/ from Saskatchewan
who also works out of Nashville has released L’il
Acadian Boy/Petit Gars Acadien” (18 songs) which
features nine of his original compositions performed
in English and the same 9 repeated in French, reflecting
his Irish and French heritage. The album’s title
track, and the song Banished Acadian will have particular
significance for 2004 and beyond; 2004 marks celebrations
recognizing the 400th Anniversary of the Acadians in
North America…especially in Nova Scotia (Acadie),
the original homeland of Acadians.
On this Compact Disc, all songs
are written, arranged and produced by Donjames LeBlanc.
Don plays all of the guitars and the banjo too and,
of course, does all of the vocals along with his band…all
top-rate Nashville studio musicians. Two of the songs
are about the heart and soul of Acadiens. “Banished
Acadian” is a true account of the exile or deportation.
Several of the songs are new country. Don’s preference
is “All the Time” and “Truck Driver”
(jazz flavour). “No Future in The Päst”
is straight country, “Dance With Me” falls
into the latin category. “Don’t Even Know
Your Name” is pop. Give them a listen! “I
Love You Girl” and “Good Ol’ You”
are also a very good listen!
chansons.
« Too Much Too
Hot »
Once again,
all of the music and all of the lyrics are composed,
sung and played by western Canada’s legendary
Donjames LeBlanc. This Compact Disc is close to what
many remember country music to have been just before
it began to cross over. It’s emotional but not
passionate, melodic and not shallow. And it’s
danceable. Hearing it, one can picture couples dancing
on a Saturday night in say, Bakersfield, California.
All tracks are very refreshing. Everything was written,
arranged and produced by Donald J. LeBlanc. All of the
guitars are played by Donjames LeBlanc along with top
studio players. The CD, with the exception of two songs
“Buyin Time” and “Playin A Game”
(brand new releases) is a collection of 45 rpm releases
ALL from the GOLDEN 1980s. Two of Don’s favourites
are “Believe In Magic” and “The Woman
I Can’t Have”. “Too Much” (track
3) was chosen for the pop picks for the souvenir edition
of the World’s Fair in Nashville a few years ago!
Ce Disque Compact est à
100% chanté en anglais. Toutes les 10 chansons
sont composés et chantés par Donjames
LeBlanc.
chant au sujet des vers « How The Worm Turns »
(c’est comique). Le dernier chant, « She’s
A Secretary » (deuxième version enregistré
à Nashville) donne des mots d’ honneur
aux secrétaires au monde de commerce. Pour le
plupart, c’est un compilation des 45 tours.
Le chant s’appelle « Too Much » était
bien populaire dans les années 80!
Dream and Smile
This Compact Disc includes
once again the voice and several guitars of the LEGENDARY
Donjames LeBlanc interpreting 11 more of his own creations:
2 songs have some fills of Donjames on banjo! The title
cut is an inspirational ballad about how to live with
a dream followed buy a valentine’s day melody.
The secretary song done in Hollywood should be played
during National Secretary’s Day in April. What
follows on the CD is an imaginative story of tragic
love, one about diamonds and unfaithfulness and one
about wishing and unfulfilled romance! “Trees”
portrays Donjames’ love of nature. “Spring
Moon” outlines a relationship of let’s say
a Micmac Native and perhaps an Acadien. There’s
a song about life without love and one about unsmiling
faces and sadness. The CD ends with a rockin’
song about bachelorhood, “Bachelor Blues”!
If Donjames were buying this CD, his song choice would
be “Trees” and “My Valentine”.
But all of the songs on this CD are sure to make your
CD collection memorable.
***
She’s A Secretary » enregistré à
Hollywood. Des 11 chansons, toutes composés et
chantés par Donjames LeBlanc, seulement une,
« My Valentine » (un bon favori), était
enregistré à Nashville; les autres chansons
étaient enregistrés à Hollywood,
Californie.
« Don LeBlanc Country »
This 1990 debut in digital for THE
LEGENDARY Donjames LeBlanc, opens with a ballad followed
by a traditional two-step, a country-rock, a bright
two-step, a light country-rock, and a latin-country.
A Dixieland-swing marks a change of pace; it is followed
by by a bouncy western song a novelty country-rock,
a solid two-step, a southern style C & W, and a
rockin’ finale. Donjames LeBlanc plays all of
the guitars once again (4 of them), and does the vocals
too…there’s also harmony vocals. Like Donjames,
all of the players on this compact disc are studio musicians.
Once again, all of these songs were written, arranged
and produced by Donald J. LeBlanc, and yes, he even
did the graphics and layout. On this Compact Disc, the
songs which have received the most airplay are “I’m
So Lonesome I’m Cryin”, “I Had A Feeling”,
‘Today Is My Birthday’, and “In The
Movies”. You will be proud to have this album
in your musical library. For the most part, this Compact
Disc has an Adult-Pop/Contemporary Feel. The success
of this CD prompted Music Machine Records to release
it a second time in 1997.
***
Ce disque compact était un bon
succès. « I’m So Lonesome I’m
Cryin », « Today Is My Birthday »,
« I Must Be A Mushroom » et « In The
Today Is My Birthday » était mis en avant
à cause des paroles d’ anniversaire et
le mélodie attirant s’adressant à
tout age. Ce DC est bien disposé pour tous! Il
est sûr de vous plaire!
« Beatin The Pavement
»
This album, once again, contains all
LeBlanc compositions and it represents a cross section
of some of LeBlanc’s songs. Like his first recording,
all of the vocals on this albums are sung by Donjames
LeBlanc and all of the guitars and some of the bass
guitar tracks are played by him. The germ for this album
was struck while Donjames was driving to Hollywood,
California in his pick-up truck pulling a 5th wheel.
This 5th wheel used to be the property of his father,
Regis, from whom he bought it…it had sentimental
value but it was sold in 1992. The album includes a
country-rock tune, a waltz, an ‘Eagles-Type’
song (great lyrics), a drivin-picking song about a true-blood
Canadien, a funk tune, a rock-ballad, a swing-rock tune,
a new-wave song, a country rock, a rock-disco and a
bossa nova. Donjames LeBlanc handles all of the vocals
including the vocal harmony and, of course, he plays
all of the guitars; he can also be heard playing bass
guitar.
THE SONGS: ‘Beatin The Pavement’,
the title of the album is the name of the first track.
It is a country-rock tune with a memphis beat. The lyric
is about getting that almighty record deal. The idea
for this song came while Don was driving his Dodge pick-up
truck and Vanguard 5th-wheel trailer to Hollywood, California
from Saskatchewan, Canada. ‘Bye Bye My Lady My
Love’ has an old-time waltz beat. This ‘catchy’
melody and lyric suggest the difficulties one might
have trying to say goodbye to a loved one. ‘Why’d
You Ever Leave Me Girl’ is a ballad. The idea
for this song came while observing the many losers which
line Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.
‘Guitar Pickin Man’ is a country-rock guitar
picking song with a drivin’ beat. The lyric discusses
the guitar and how central it is to all types of modern
music. ‘Superfunk’ like the title suggest,
is a funk-rock disco tune. The Lyric tells you how one
might dance to funk. ‘Let The Light Shine’
is a rock-ballad with an inspirational message to follow
your light. ‘Love Me’ is best described
as swing-rock. The beat will remind you that what is
old is new with a new-wave flavour. ‘Kisses Wine
and Roses’ is suited for weddings. This ballad
combines kisses, wine and roses into symbols of love.
It contains three-part vocal harmony all sung by Donjames
LeBlanc. ‘I’d Like You To Love Me’
is a new-wave rock tune which expresses ones need for
love. ‘Never Called Back’ is a country-rock
song about how people sometimes break the simplest of
promises. ‘My Woman’ has a rock-disco flavour…about
an ideal woman. For rhythm effect, a phaser and flanger
were used to give the guitar a particular sound. ‘Dreaming
Being Living In Love’ is a bossa nova which has
an esoteric quality. To date, the most popular and most
played songs from this album are ‘Bye Bye My Lady
My Love’, Why’d You Ever Leave Me Girl’,
‘Guitar Pickin Man’ and ‘Superfunk’.
This album is now available on Compact Disc.
****
Cet album est disponible en 33 vinyle,
cassette et disque compact. Toutes les chansons étaient
essentiellement enregistrées en anglais en studio
à Hollywood, Californie sinon quelques doublage
accomplis à Calgary, Alberta. « Beatin
cet album!
« Don LeBlanc & His
Guitar »
This is Donjames LeBlanc first solo
career album; it was recorded in 1976 at Calaart Studios
in Regina, Saskatchewan and was published in early 1977.
Donjames LeBlanc is very proud of his
first album and extra proud of the 4 songs he wrote
for it: ‘All Things Are Done’, and ‘Hopin’
are vocals; ‘Back Up’ and ‘Lullaby
Waltz’ are guitar instrumentals. ‘Lullaby
Waltz’ is very popular. Some other songs on the
album he did not write, but equally popular are ‘Are
You Lonesome Tonight’ (vocal) and ‘Third
Man Theme’ (guitar instrumental); they deserve
special mention because they receive special treatment
under the hands of the legendary Donjames LeBlanc. This
is a good album and will soon be available on Compact
Disc. It has 17 cuts.
As mentioned, this was Donjames LeBlanc’s
first solo recording. Amidst a multitude of interests
and while holding down a full-time teaching job as a
high-school teacher, he found time to share a diverse
sampling of his music. In addition to an exceptionally
fine Guitar style, the instrumental and vocal numbers
on this album were selected to that they could be appreciated
by all age groups. You will find this recording opens
the door to some of the most popular tunes of the 50s,
60s and 70s. Then too, there are four original compositions
guaranteed to capture your approval. Whether it be a
ballad, a waltz, a country, a latin or a rock beat,
this album is sure to please your musical taste.
